Within six months after our purchase, we had our Microvellum Software running in full production. I figured I'd better chime back in with an update…Ī few years after this thread started, the company I worked for ended up purchasing Microvellum. It’s amazing that after 17 years this post is still active.

Thanks for the info, I will look into cabinet They are limited to pretty much standard cabinets, I have tried to manipulate the programs and have not been very successful. > Any ideas, suggestions, or input would be great. > We need a B.O.M., a cutlist, and 3-D capabilities. > correct it, send it to our factory, who engineers it, and we never get it > idea (they are copyrighted) of what we are trying to accomplish. > I can, if necessary, post a few of these drawings so you can get a better We need to find one that has the ability to be manipulated > As you can guess there is quite a difference between all of these > Shops, Retail Stores, and Country Clubs.

The best advise I could give would be to demo any product to the fullest you Both Microvellum and Cabinetware have great 3DĬapabilities. One of the big ideas behind these products isĮxporting to CNC machines. So, hoping others who may have tried it can give a little feedback for those of us tempted to take the plunge. We are in the process of looking at these products as well. coping with what corporate has selected as the best money maker for them. Sure is nice to be able to pick these utilities based on your work style vs. Sketchup does afford a higher level of freedom for tuning your system to your style, based on the wide variety of plugins, including some awesome rendering extensions. It just appears Cabinet Sense has found a way of morphing it into a more streamlined workflow similar to the bigger players, so I'm very interested to see if it's worth the curve. Yes, I know thermwood and CPP are out there, but at almost 10 years in Sketchup, I'm sticking with what I know. At this rate, it's evolved into a significant amount of hours per month translating projects from Sketchup to Vectric and Cutlist, at least on these more mundane and expansive runs of general cabinetry. Over the last two years, my mix of work has evolved more towards filling rooms and entire houses with more cabinetry than furniture, so the $75 is looking pretty reasonable for automating many of the processes. The lack of forthcoming and clarity really put me off. However, they are very vague regarding actual cost- like after 10 years of monthly payments they may consider it a partial down payment for what appeared to be $20-$30k overall investment. I've also looked at Mozaik, but was about twice as much monthly, yet there is a teaser point that you can actually purchase it. Compared to the big boys (KCD, etc.), this is a much more reasonable outlay. I guess I'm wearing down, as this appears to be the way the world is rapidly turning with software. Monthly subscription pricing format is a big turn off.ġ00% agreement on that point, and it's a common reaction to all these CAD/CAM programs.(Sorry, "apps").
